Is this normal? (NO PICTURES)

The thing is,I did put an extra water bowl a long time ago. But all they did was spit out the purina food in it.
Yes that is what they do, they waste but that's just the way it is with ducks. since my ducks are outside and not in a brooder now I put my buckets across the yard from their food so they at least don't get the food so watery. But they still mange to put a lot of feed into the water. That's how they swallow though they use the water to wash down their feed. You just have to expect all of this when having ducklings/ducks.

Dry food and no water = dead duck
No water deep enough to submerge their head = dead duck

Ducks may not need water to swim in (although they prefer it) but they do NEED clean water deep enough to submerge and clean their heads.

I got these ducklings from a hen that I've been watching.
I kept feeding her and petting her when she first laid her eggs and started to incubate.
I wanted to raise ducklings for the fun of it.

Fun for you but sad for the ducklings who are imprinted on you and will not survive once you let them go. They have depended on you for their food and care. How's the ducklings eye?

It has gotten much better.
The problem is their jumpy and keep falling to the floor and hurting themselves but they stand up and like
''what was that?''.
