Ever since I got my first chicks about a month ago, I've lost interest in most regular activities in my life, including my job. All I want to do is stay home and be with my chickens. Is this normal?

Super normal! I hate school and some of my friends have like ditched me because I love chickens but I don’t really care lol

Omg I know right? First thing in the morning, I run out to say good morning and feed and water. Many trips outside to talk to them. Then last thing at night they get their goodnight song I made up when our first batch ever were spending their first night with us.

I hope my chickens start loving me soon. Right now I go into their new coop and they act like I'm the overbearing mother invading their privacy. They hate it when I hold them and try to kiss them. My husband says I smother them. So maybe if I go into the coop and pretend not to notice them then they'll like me more? Reverse psychology!
