Oh my goodness I am so sorry, you are a good duck mama! And poor Max! It is so hard losing one of these sweet ducks. I lost one a few months ago and it is horrible.

Thanks for updating. Now I am just so over worried about Max that I have to ask.. from day one I have been able to hear him breath.. kinda like a stuffy nose but his nostrils ,I guess they are called ,are clear .. now I was never able to hear Ruby breath until Saturday and she had issues obviously but do some ducks just breath loud and some not? Sorry I am just a bit freaked out and you guys have all been so helpful I really appreciate itI hope he can hold out for a week or too. I understand what the vet is says though. Bless his heart. Yes he has access to nose deep water at all times and no open mouth breathing. Thank youI assume you are providing nose deep water 24/7. If he doesn't appear to be showing any other symptoms I wouldn't be concerned, I believe I had a Pekin that breathed somewhat hard most of her life, no open mouth breathing, just through her nostrils.
and she is super sad to have to get rid of them so I have promised her lots of pics and updates and hopefully they will all be happy together.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
