Hi everyone,

My hen Sandy doesn't have feathers at a part of her wing.
Is that normal?

Has she always been like that or is it recent?

Can you give us an idea about her and the other chickens in your flock? Ages and sexes? My first thought is that she has been picked on by others. Any idea where she ranks in the pecking order?

A red wound is an open invitation for others to pick on her- with serious potential consequences. There are medicines that you can use to cover up any wounds and help prevent pecking.

Edit: Here is some info on chicken first aid.

We have 14 chickens. 12 of them are 5-month-old chicks and shes a hen with Pal. They like to attack the youngsters. Maybe it's from earlier when they were living at a different place...

How old is this bird and how long have you had her?
Look like 'rooster wear' to me.
If she was living with male previously, yes it's normal.
Feather will regrow when she molts.
