Here are a couple more attempts, it's a bare patch on her right side of her chest just below the base of her neck.

It's a bare place on her chest just below the base of her neck.

Is she drinking and eating? Are you giving grit for digestion? This might be a crop issue.

Yes, she is eating and drinking. There is grit available and she has eaten some of it too.

Have never seen anything like that before, so I would say, no, that's not normal. Maybe someone else has seen something similar and has an idea of what that is, a cause, and hopefully a solution. Sorry I can't be of any help.

Does it feel strange, like crusty or anything? Wondering if she just rubbed up against something and damaged some of the down, or got something sticky on it and it tore off a bit of down.

It is dry and she is leaving it alone so hopefully your ideas are what is going on.
