Is this normal??

My first chick hatched but it is just lying there (sleeping/breathing) and its stomach doesnt look closed up all the way. Is this normal?? Will it close?? Or is this one not going to make it??

When my chicks hatched out they laid and rested for several hours, I was worried about them too. The stomach that isn't closed up all the way is where it was attached to the shell. It will probably be fine, it may look more open than it really is. Do you have a picutre? That will help.

Unfortunetly, it passed away

I didnt have the heart to take a picture of its stomach. Just so sad!!

But on a good note, as I was taking the one out I could hear 2 other eggs so hopefully we have 2 more coming.
