Is this pigeon embryo alive

@subhanalah
I think pigeons are bred as racing pigeons, so I think it is alright if they are raised without a mum besides I really didn't want to leave it to die. However I am very new to pigeons so I might be wrong.

I know I get so easily attached, I once cried after my fish died

. It is going to be so so so hard to let him go. Apparently, the first person thing to give a squab (baby pigeon) their food, the pigeon immediately become attached to them, which is another thing I should consider. I might end up keeping the little chick

if that happens I will need to have the housing for it, which I'm not prepared for. Do you know any good housing for pigeons because that's one thing good isn't not good at

Not all pigeons are bred as racing pigeons.....my pigeons are Birmingham rollers and they are not racing pigeons instead they fly around and then roll down and then catch themselves and keep on flying (sometimes a pigeon is bred with too much roll in them and end up rolling so far that they hit the ground and die). One thing you'll have to do is keep him warm and you should probably get a syringe.
Baby pigeons don't open their mouth to eat, they stick their beak inside of their parents mouth and then their parents regurgitate the food.
If you go to Foys pigeon supplies online and then look up syringe then they'll have special ones that have a tube that goes into the babies stomach or you can buy a large syringe at a store and modify it.

Thanks both of you, I'll have to have a look at that. The only syringe I have is a small one for my rabbit when he was in antibiotics. It is still in the packet because I had two, when I only needed one. I don't know if that will be alright so I'll have a look at those websites. What about housing for pigeons? Minimum housing sizes etc.

Well I candled him today... Is this normal, I can still see veining but it doesn't look right????

I'm sure it is fertilized but unsure whever it is alive. I am really worried

It's been 11 days and it hadn't hatched but there is still veining and it has got a lot bigger filling up the egg. I don't know whever I should chuck it or wait a few days. You can see the air cell at the top but is that normal to have the space at the bottom still.
