My 2 Buff Roosters combs have these black spots. Is it contagious. Are my other birds eggs safe to eat around them. Could it just be frostbite? It actually appears all my birds have small spots of whatever it is

Looks more like dried blood/injuries from fighting. I would try washing the comb with some warm, soapy water and see if the dark stuff comes off.

I held one down and tried to wipe the comb. Doesn't seem to want go come off and I notice a few gave it. Just led profound as my 2 rooster. They are worse then a greased pig to hold when they know your being nosey.
