I bought four brahma chicks from Tractor Supply last Thursday. Their weights were 42 grams and 44 grams. I figured they were a couple days old because they all still had their "egg tooth." This morning I noticed that the smallest one is developing wing feathers and tail feathers - you can see the cute little clump in pic - and the other three chicks don't show this much development yet. Could this be a male? This is my first venture with chickens.

Here is "Lily" - name subject to change lol

And now for Lola, Lulu and Leah.

I've heard early developers are likely girls but I'm definitely no expert and not sure how it works in different breeds. I will say one of my 2 week old buff orpingtons that I suspected was a boy due to slow development is now developing a prominent comb compared to the rest so we'll see!

my guess would be lulu is a cockerel just by the upright postion but there really is no telling to at least 6 weeks of age
