Is this really a silver laced wyandotte?

This is really addicting isn't it? My DH is filling in our 40 foot pool for me next year to help make room for my garden and run. (it's old and the kids are long gone on their own, so it's not needed) But as I get chicks I wonder if that will be enough. Now I want to move onto some land so we can have a roo and not be so limited by how many hens I can have

. Guess I should give it a few years before I put the house up for sale

You 2 week photo looks just like my Auracana - I also have silver laced and they look NOTHING like your chick. They are black and white chicks.

Here is a link to my chicks- I have 3 Auracanas, 3 Barred Rocks and 4 SLW. I have my images labeled as to what breed each chick is so you can see- they are 1 week and 2 weeks old in the pics.

I'm pretty certain it is a Welsummer.

We have a 3 week old Speckled Sussex that was supposed to be a Welsummer... split an order with some friends and had a hard time telling the two apart when they were brand new. We've spent the last few weeks studying them closely and are certain now we mixed them up.

You should be getting some nice chocolate brown eggs!

definitley not a silver laced wyandotte.... and it is a rooster. maybe a welsummer or partridge rock???

I found a farm to take him if he's a rooster. If by some miracle he's not, I'm keeping "her"

I'll guess welsummer. I have a SLW and they are totally different. And my SLW us different from most others. People talk about how sweet theirs are, but mine hates all people.

I handled my SLW alot. Cuddled them and tried hard to make them sweet. Mine are not mean to me, but are very cranky to the other chickens and very standoffish. Real pretty and good layers. No my idea of pet chicken though. My rooster Nero, was gorgeous however. RIP.

It would be great to see updated photos as s/he grows up so we can see how it shakes out.
