Is this really Wheaton Marans?

I bought this chick as a sexed pullet a month ago, Wheaton Marans, at Wilco. She has feathery legs, but seems more red than many pics of Wheaton Marans I see. She’s calm and shy.

Hatchery/production quality birds, such as those being sold in retail stores, are not going to be the greatest representatives of what one would expect of a particular variety. Variations in color/ within varieties, such as shown by your bird, are fairly common. Your bird is what I would expect to see from a hatchery quality bird of this variety

I’m fine with that, if anything I think the darker red is really pretty.
