I could use some guidance/advice/encouragement — does this look like scaly leg mites?

I’ve been attempting to treat 2 hens for bumble foot but i am recently thinking that it could potentially be scaly leg mites instead(?) i have successfully treated one of these hens for BF in the past. This time around, I could not find a kernel in either hen’s foot. I have been soaking their feet and packing with prid/re wrapping for atleast a week or 2. One of the chickens i am referring to is the one with purple bandages and the other is the barred rock which should be the last photo)

While changing the bandage on my olive egger, i noticed how scaly her legs were and saw what looked to me like a raised scale. She is 2-3 years old. (This is the chicken in photo with purple bandages)

Some of our 4 year old hens have kinda busted looking legs too but I’ve always just thought they were how chicken legs looked.

I’ve noticed 2 hens have a weird gait but i just assumed they were kinda goofy. (One is the chicken with purple bandages and the other is her Easter egger sister)

If they do have scaly leg mites, I’d prefer to do the gasoline dip method that the chicken chick has noted on her site. Since I’ve been working on the 2 gals feet, I’m thinking i will lather them up with Vaseline until their open foot sores heal… clean out coop etc

Thoughts? Advice?

I clean their coop and run almost daily and they have plenty of space to dust bathe 🥹

Leg mights very common even in the soil and grass. I use this got it off Amazon. Works for mites and lice. Looks like you are a very diligent chicken mamma 😊

I don't see anything alarming about the scales of the legs.

Since you are treating the hens for BF, then it wouldn't hurt to rub some castor oil, nustock cream or vaseline up and under the scales of the legs/feet to smother any Scaly Leg Mites that may be there.

To me, it looks like older hen, worn scales.

Thank you so much for the reply! I have been wanting to change their bedding and do a good cleaning so i will do that all just in case. I will treat their legs with Vaseline too. I appreciate your advice very much!

It's cruel IMO. Most, us included, use vaseline or Ivermectin 5% pour on. We've done both. Easiest way is at night when they're perched in the coop.
Makes sense. Thank you for your insight! i am still learning and i appreciate you explaining that. So far, i have rubbed Vaseline on their legs and i did a deep clean on the coop which included removing all bedding and nesting box materials. I sprayed the nooks and crannies with the product mentioned by another member and then dusted with food grade DE before replacing bedding with construction grade sand. I will do another round of Vaseline today.

So should I not to feed my chickens raw oat meal?
