It sure looks like it but they aren't so bad yet.
We get them every two years or so with our silkies. Two things we've done work. Go in the coop at night for both.
Slather every chicken's feet and legs with vaseline. Repeat every other night for three nights. Then repeat this in 10 days.
Or:
Ivermectin Pour On, 5mg. We part the feathers on the neck and put the number of drops each needs. Small silkies get one, medium get two, and the larger ones get three. Repeat in 10 days.
Dosage:
5% Pour-On Ivermectin (topical only) is 1 mg/kg = 0.09 ml lb.
1 eyedropper drop is 0.05 ml
Both of these methods work, but it takes a long time for their scales to grow new ones. It's best to leave them alone. For fewer chickens, vaseline is more prudent, but when we tripled the number, we changed to the drops.
