Is this serious?

IMHO, if you are raising chicks, you should be fine. I raised 2 BR roos (bonus from the free box when I got my first chicks) and they are handsome friendly birds that are always watching over their hens. I liked them so much that I added a couple 26 week old BR pullets to the flock. These 2 girls have now earned the names of Helga (because she has perfected the permanent stink eye) and the Witch, because well, she is. They have never been unfriendly toward me, but jeepers are they hard on the other hens! A few nights ago, I watched the Witch peck both neighbors on the roost just because, chase one about 5', then grab her by the neck when she couldn't get any further away. And she would not let the other poor hen go. It made me so mad, I snatched her, held her upside down (gently, not by her feet) & started counting to 100. '

', If it weren't for the fact that she lays at least 6 eggs a week, I would have culled her right then & there. [Although, the extra blood flow to her little pea brain seems to have settled her down some, at least for the moment.] In summary, if you can raise them your way, they'll be great birds & you'll love them. Be careful if you get adults though. (And fyi, I did not get the problem girls-- I was told to pick any 2 I wanted & these just happened to be the first 2 we caught.) Good luck--have fun. '

To me they are the sweetest! I've got a flock of 12, 2 of them a RRs. If I had it to do all over again, I would only have BRs, I think they're that great.
