Is this shrink wrapped?

If nothing else, check Walmart for the cheap aquarium thermometers... the floating ones, glass tubes with the little metal balls in the tips... those are usually pretty accurate actually...

I used one of those at first before switching to a reptile thermometer which I could see better. Both are very accurate in judging the temp, just the aquarium one was hard to tell due to being made for one to clearly see in water.

Yep, that's my experience too... can't beat the availability or the price in a pinch either...

I only use analog reptile thermometers and hygrometers now too... they're meant to be in high humidity for the life of the product so last longer and more accurate, in my experience... :D
 
I use a humidity pump to take the guess work out. It keeps them from drowning for being entombed.
