Hello, so i'm picking up some silkies tomorrow but I wanted girls and these are unsexed. They said that they were hatched the first week if November. So what ones do you think are pullets? Thank you!

The one with brown looks male. It's the red coming in on his shoulders and back of the head... unless that's a trick of the light.

No others are showing their combs and waddles well enough, But at that age it should be VERY obvious by waddles and comb who the males are. I have some hatched Thanksgiving that are very clear in gender and have been for a few weeks now.

Beyond that with the darker ones, any sporting green on their tail or wing feathers will be male... as well as anyone who's comb and waddles look nice and red. There should be virtually NO waddles on the females. Females are *usually* a little shyer and smaller. Males won't be sporting their slightly longer tails just yet. But their combs should be fairly swollen/large compared to the females.

I did see one line recently that had really small combs and waddles on their males eve older, but isn't my usual experience. In fact I really won't even try to sell "straight run" past 3 weeks... because I can usually tell the BOYS, by behavior. Though not all boys of course and there is the occasional extra spunky girl. :)

So in other words... I've probably been no help at all! :p

Hope you get some girls, they are little beauties! :love

Thank you. Yes, this breeder said that their males combs and wattles look very close to the females. That's why I was trying to look for streamers. But I'm having hard time. Lol

Streamers are a very questionable thing as far as what people think they are. They aren't just a feather with the follicle still attached as some believe are streamers. If you twist that follicle it will fall off and reveal a normal feather. But long feathers that come out of the back of the head, think mullet.. that would be more accurate. And they are pointy. I can't get my computer to zoom in well enough... but I'm almost 100% sure I see them on the one with brown that I say has red on the back of it's head.

The white ones look like males to me. I think the brown one is a girl. It's head is so puffy. Males in my opinion tend to have sparser crests.
