Hi there everybody. A friend of mine recently came into possession of a Sizzle cockerel. He's breeder stock and seems to have a good curl and good type. But we (neither of us being particularly well versed in the breed) can't determine if his color is any kind of standard color. I'm inclined to not think so, but I'm trying to make sure, since I know there are plenty of new and experimental varieties being developed all the time.
My questions are:
A. Is he a standard color? Is the color a recognized variety?
B. Would he be any use in showing or breeding, if he is not a standard color?
I also would like somebody to confirm my use of the word "Sizzle". As I understand it, the Sizzle is essentially a Silkie that shows frizzled feathers rather than silkied feathers. Is that correct?
Pictures will be posted in a moment, mobile does not allow me to add them to the thread starter.
