is this splay leg?

one of the quail chicks that hatched walks fine, gets around fine but sometimes when it goes to sleep its legs will be out long, they dont splay sideways just out the back. then when it wakes it scrambles to its feet ok and seems fine.

will that right itself or does it need something to fix it?

Sounds to me that just hasn’t built strength up yet if day or so old. I’d say is okay for now. If you have some nutri drench I’d give it some. Hopefully will correct itself in few days. Good luck!

What kind of quail is it? I've seen a lot of coturnix that just like to sleep/rest that way.
