These seremas were hatched yesterday afternoon. They don't seem to be straightening there legs out . They lay on their bellies. Should I try the bandaids on the bottom part of the leg like spraddle? Or should I apply it on the upper thigh since they wont straighten??? Any Ideas??

I would put them in a hobble. I have found that vet wrap works best for me, or if you don't have a farm supply store with vet wrap the drug stores have a stretchy self-sticking wrap that looks gauze like. It is usually tan and lighter weight than ace bandage. I had two that I need to hobble on the upper leg to get their feet back under them. Be ready for them to take a few nose dives on their faces before they figure it out.

Some people have also used cosmetic sponges and cut holes for their legs to go through.

If your chicks are not turned out from the hip area they should come around just fine.

looks pretty straight when you hold them upside down..

Have they try to move at all? I know some chicks that stays on their tummy for more than 24 hours before they decide to stand up.

Looks like it *could* be spraddle to me, but I have always had pretty poor results in trying to help chicks with spraddle leg. I have found that some of my seramas lay around for a bit after hatching....are they any better now? Let me know,

Kristen
