I think this chick is the rooster but I'm not sure. If it is. Is this red spot supposed to happen? They are about a week old.

I wouldn't worry about such a small injury as long as the others aren't pecking at it. I routinely see small injuries like this on chicks. Very possible it cut itself rubbing against something sharp or hard in the brooder.
