BSC, I hashed out plans for my coop for a year! Which design, how many birds did I really want to get, insulated or not... Finally i just started sawing and hammering or I probably still wouldn't have chickens
I actually had my chicks first, so I
had to get it done.
ncaroline, They are called T-posts and hammer into the ground. People use them a lot for snow fences, too. Their somewhat strong, but the little yard is not predator proof, the fencing just rests on the ground. I pulled the posts out once and moved them slightly to give the chickens fresh grass last year, but that's a lost cause. The girls need a bigger area, which will come this spring. I work at home and they are close to the house, but I do leave from time to time.... it's a bit of a concern and I may make something a little stronger.
I close them in every night though.
