Is this angle wing? The one side that is sticking out has feathers out of the shaft, the other side the feathers haven't formed like the other side. Today is the first I've heard of angle wing.

No, that's just how the wing feathers grow in on some chicks. It isn't a problem. I think I've heard it referred to as split wing or something.

Chicken chicks don't get angel wing. That's a waterfowl issue.

On occasion they will get sticking out feathers if they are "frizzled".

7 days is usually old enough to remove the paper towels.

Pasty butt can happen for many reasons not just overheating as some would lead folks to believe. The hatchery suggest a little acv with mother in the water for a day.

It's not split wing either.. that can't be detected at this age (as far as I know) and is a feather missing in the middle of the wing.

Thank goodness. I want to take them out of the box and let them in the pop-up brooder. But worried about them finding the food. I can put up extra stations of water and food. So you think they are ready for shavings?

They went to the big brooder just now. I have the plate and the cozycoop vertical heater. One of them is throwing a fit right now.
