Is this the start of Molting? (Picture included)

Noticed one of our favorite Ameraucanas (Chrystal) had something going on with her back feathers. It's like there is a bunch of little fuzzy feathers coming in and we noticed her sister is looking that way too. What's going on? Is it because it's getting colder? We are new to this chicken thing and are totally addicted. We are learning but still have a lot to learn.

Looks more like roo damage or pecking. Molting should start at the head end.

It could be mites. Do a very careful check for them.
