Is this underfoot?

I have a roo that was free ranging with some ducks for the last year. He has become aggressive towards them and the other bantams so I caught him tonight to put him in a pen by himself. He seems to have a large growth or scab on a swollen foot. Is this bumblefoot and is it too severe for surgery? Also would it be of any help if I gave him baytril?

My goodness, that is a huge bumblefoot. It looks pretty painful. The staph infection involved in bumblefoot can easily get into the bone with bad infections. Procaine Penicillin G is sometimes used in severe cases. Here is a good link with a video that show the surgery:

I only noticed it when I picked him up as I've never had this problem before and he's not even limping or lame in any way.

It's not really showing up in the pics, but it is very swollen.
