The marans hen will give you nice dark brown eggs, the other girl probably some shade of brown. You might want to get about 5+ more hens for the boy, or he will love these girls bald and weary. Simply not enough hens for his hormones.

Unfortunately the roo is going to have to go. Just can't have him in the neighborhood. He's a character though and hope to find a good home for him.

Looks like a Welsummer to me. I almost said rooster because of the face but the colors are hen colors so I think you are safe there.

He's a beautiful roo.....too bad you can't keep him. In my first round about a year ago I raised 5 out of 7 roosters.....it was so hard to give them all away. Lucy turned out to Rickey, Ethel turned out to be Fred, Laverne to Lenny, Shirley to Squiggy

I agree, I'm no expert but that doesn't look like any RIRs I've seen. Closer to a EE or Ameraucana(spelled right by chance?).
