is whiny dead??UPDATE!!!SHE DIED ):

This has been an incredible story - the pics area amazing and a lesson in not assuming they're dead too soon!

We once had a pet mouse (rescued from a high school lab) and one day a year of so later my parents found it "dead", on its back, legs up in the air, AND stiff. My dad dug a grave for him and gently placed him in it. I am grateful my dad did not have a heart attack when all of a sudden the mouse sprung up out of the hole and was very much alive! Good thing he hadn't filled the grave with dirt yet.

Hoping Whiny gets better and better. Your tender loving care has worked miracles so far.

Hey, how's she doing today?? That was incredible, yesterday! She looked so much better in the pictures! Keep giving her lots of TLC (and all the electrolytes, etc.) and she should be on her way!

Yeah, Monty Python's Holy Grail had the "Bring out your dead scene" with the guy saying "I'm not dead yet" and Princess Bride had the scene where Billy Crystal was able to bring the guy back to life because "He was only mostly dead..."

That's the scene I kept thinking about when the first posts started about "Is she dead" but she was opening and closing her mouth for hours - I thought well only "mostly" dead. And if you're only mostly dead there's still hope.

Yay Whiny - you go girl.

UPDATE!!: 8:00 am

She is alive, and sitting, but pretty groggy. I got her up three times last night to try to give her electrolytes, and water and tried parrot food, which she STILL isn't too excited about.

This morning she seems okay, but very weak, as I have not been able to get much food down her. I know that liquids are most important, especially with the electrolytes...but I know her body is hungry and she does need to eat soon. I am going to try the baby handfeeding parrot food even more watered down and see if that will work better. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? There is no way that she will eat anything solid yet, but I was thinkning of trying an egg yoke or something...let me know what you think.

She still does not eat or drink on her own.

Try raw egg yolk. Mine love it and will dip their whole face in it while scarfing it down and end up with the "egg on their face" saying.
