I have some babies that're going out into the coop soon and I'm thinking of creating a dusting area under the elevated coop. 1. Do the girls NEED to dust themselves? 2. What should I use for dusting material...sand..reg.dirt...something special? 3. I know adding DE is a good thing for thier health...how much and how do I apply it? 4. Since winter is coming, should I set up a little dusting tub inside thier coop? I know that's a lot of questions but newbies need to know... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Chickens love to play in the sand box, roll and dust themselves. It is soothing for them. Yes, they love to do it in winter as well.
