I use an online servcie to back mine up. IT's awesome. Doesn't matter what happens to the ocmputer, including fire, flood, earthquake. Cuz, the server isn't here. AND it's automatic. So I don't have to remember. Cuz, I don't remember things like that...

Yeah, memory cards are MUCH cheaper than a new camera! Depending on the camera, you can get one for like $7, and a fairly large one at that!

I should look into a fire proof safe/box though. I saw some small ones at walmart that were pretty cheap. I think it was like $50 or so.

I'm pretty paranoid about having enough copies of everything too. I had my extrernal drive crash once and I lost everything in it. So I back up everything onto that and DVDs. My music is on my ipod and that's worked pretty well as a back up.

I just had to change my security, as part of the package I got something called Digital Vault. I believe it was from MS and is a means of automatically making a backup on the internet and stored (on a server somewhere?). Not really too sure about all the details.
I really do not care about losing things, only fun stuff on my computer, but I do make backups occasionally.

Try going to your control panel and you will find an icon called backup and restore or go to your security icon at the bottom right of your screen, near the time.
Either should give you an option to make a backup. There are a lot of ways to make a backup- saving it to a disc, stick or another drive.
Sorry I'm not very savvy on other systems, just can usually figure it out if it is in front of me.

THanks, Imp
I'll try that!
