Hi there! I purchased straight run chicks from TSC. From what I’ve gathered the female should appear more brown than the males. Also the females secondary wings will appear more developed. I’m starting to worry all 4 of my chicks are males. What do y’all think? I’m posting photos of when I first got the chicks and now. I also included a photo of the current wings.

You planning on keeping them?
No. I haven’t had chickens for about 5-6 years. I purchased 4 just to have enough eggs for myself. Hopefully I can rehome these guys and get some hens! :) thank you for your help!

They might still be pullets. My ISA browns looked like that when they where younger. And they turned out to be pullets. I would wait until they have more of their feathers in.
Thanks for your feedback! I’m definitely going to wait a while to see. I’ll post pics once they are a little older. That’s relieving to read though. I hope they are all gals, or at least 3!

Did yours have the uneven feathers like that as well?

The wing shape and look does not actually matter much. After doing a little reseach I can confirm that they are all girls. They are red and have clear defined stripes in their baby pictures. That signifies that they are females. If they were cockerels then their down would be completely white.
