I've raised isa brown for years now and had an incident last winter with coyotes pulling down my fencing and gaining access to my coop and devistating my hens. This spring I bought 20 new babies and am raising them in my garage till the weather warms up and can put them into the coup. I have never before seen a male come out of any of the ones I have brought into my flock and one of the chicks shows signs of possibly being a male. It's much larger than the other hens, all white feathers, and the comb is developing faster as well. There isn't a lot of information about isa brown roosters on the internet so I was curious if anyone else has seen one before?

Welcome!

I am sorry to hear of your devastating loss but also pleased that you are giving it another go.

Sorry, I am not experienced with Isa Browns but you could try posting some individual pictures of the chick in question on the Breed & Gender Forum for opinions: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

If you would like to share more pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Are you allowed to string some electrified wires on the outside of your coop fencing.? Give the coyotes a warm welcome. Please post on the predator threads for more safekeeping suggestions.
