This girl stopped laying at around 11 months. The others are 13 months and havn't missed a bear.

She is healthy and curious and acts the same as the others. She is not molting. The only thing I notice is that she's bigger than the others and is a richer colour (I'm assuming it's from not laying).

Any suggestions? I've had some harsh tips like starving her for a few days or feeding her expired yogurt. Lol.

NOTE: When she was laying, we found some HUGE eggs once in a while.. maybe one every week or two.. they were double, and sometimes triple yolkers! Maybe this damaged her?

She could just be stressed, or the heat is getting to her more than the others. It's also possible that she's just taking a break. Hens aren't machines, so they have off days and don't lay for one reason or another. She will probably start back up soon.

I was thinking that but it has been two months and she acts normal otherwise. Strange. Might have to soup pot her with the Roosters.

How have you established she is not in lay.... did you assess comb, wattle, vent condition? Can Hulu post a photo of her and one of a flock mate for comparison?

She has been separated for a month now after my 6 Brown eggs per day went down to 5 eggs. sure enough, I'm still getting 5 eggs and none from her. I can take a picture later but she's pretty much just bigger and darker.

When you say bigger is in an overall build or us she abnormally bulky when you pick her up? Is her abdomen normal in feel or heavy.......solid or squishy? What is her feces like compared to the others?

I would say her overall build is bigger. Her abdomen feels like the others - a little squishy. Her poops look normal.

I've posted a head shot of her compared to another that lays eggs and has lighter waffles and comb. I've also posted a body shot.

Better shots of size difference and comb/wattle color. The size difference doesn't seem too extreme.

I added to the initial question that when she was laying, I would get some ENORMOUS eggs, maybe once every week or two... They were double or triple yolkers. They looked ridiculous next to a normal-sized egg. Could this have damaged her?

I'm not really experienced enough to answer your post, but I do have ISA Brown chickens about the same age. I had one of my hens act as though she couldn't lay one day. Egg bound. She finally did lay but was never the same after that. She also like yours had always laid enormous eggs. She eventually got weak and didn't act right, almost lame and limping. I eventually had to put her down. She was to weak to even get in the coop.
Not exactly your experience since your hen seems healthy and alert but like you said she could possibly have damaged herself laying enormous eggs. I believe that's what happened to mine.
