Yes, I was already looking into getting NPIP here for my BLRW flock, but hadn't had the time with work to pursue it enough. Now, with the chicks, I am definitely going to get that done. I know of a couple of breeders of other breeds in the area, but I don't know if they are NPIP or not, so I will check in to that. I am usually so careful about who I buy from. I am just ready to kick myself for buying from an unknown, unverified breeder. Stupid, stupid, stupid!!

Don't be too hard on yourself. There are many people who are not NPIP and raise really nice birds in their back yard with no problem... then there are people who are raising birds in whatever condition they wish because they are only out to make money.....then you have people like me who has a significant investment in their flock and feel that NPIP is a must to protect your investment.

You will find people who have a general care and interest in their birds and those are the breeders to buy from (and them being NPIP is even better)... watch out for breeders who are out for a quick buck.

Thanks,
Richard

How exciting!!! I am so jealous! I can't wait until I can order eggs like those!!!

Please update on the progress... and definitely would love to see the chicks when they hatch! If I can't have my own right now at least I can watch someone elses!

Don't worry, pictures will be coming.

Of course, I can't count my chickens before they hatch, so please keep your fingers crossed for me and send those good hatching vibes.

The big advantage I have, I live an hour from Mary so I was able to pickup the eggs, no shipping!!! I even came home the long way so the road was smoother.

And no pictures???

Seriously... congrats!!!  :jumpy :clap

Out of curiosity... how far did you have to have the eggs shipped?

Lol, my phone doesnt let me upload pics, I can only do that from my husbands phone lol. I am in Dallas and the sherrif is in North California. I had 12 shipped, 6 made lockdown and 5 hatched...not bad for shipped eggs!
