Isbar thread

Correct on that post it two roosters haha.

Aye, but things are looking better even with some severe rough patches. We may of found a cabinet incubator (a Leahy :drool ) that needs some refurbishing which won't be hard for us as a family and we officially moved to bigger land :D

Any of you have isbar chicks available in January? I'm looking for about 20 for 4H and egg laying. Also what do you guys sell your chicks for? The person in my state has them for $8 and I'm wondering if anyone has any cheaper

$8 and up is about normal for this breed. We won't be selling anything this year but hope you love the breed like we do :D

Though I will also second this question on who will be selling chicks this year, specially of first import blood line. Our flock is of second import and I want to work on body type and egg color.

I have 1st import chicks and cockerels most of the time, but the price is more than $8.00. Here is a glamor shot of one of my cockerels from last week.

These are some assorted chicks that are about a week old in the picture. They are 2 weeks old currently. Picture are Queen Silvia's, Swedish Flower Hens and blue and splash Silverudd's Blue (Isbar). The SB are all from 1st import stock.

if you have anything this spring I'll try to contact you. The Silverudds are "mom's" birds but I'm the one finding breeders and caring for them  but we have agreed on max we'lol pay for chicks.

Just getting readfy to add 10 Isbar eggs to my duckling and turkey hatch (they'll be on day 7 tomorrow). Picked up 7 here on BYC (broke 3 naturally

). I have 6 from my own pair of isbars as well. Thought I was stuck with 3 of hers. The runt has been laying eggs under a bush for 3 days. Must be trying to stock up. Should I be concerned about adding the chicks from my eggs into the flock? I thought of separating them in the incubator and hatcher so I can tell which came from my chickens, raise them out until I can tell gender, then keeping only the pullets for my breeder flock, except the roosters from the other breeder's eggs could stay.
