I have seen people here on BYC who hate on the hatcheries where most of us here get our birds from (either directly or thru a 3rd party like the local feed store or big box farm supply store) and what they do with the unwanted males. I don't like the thought of how they put them to death but big agra does the same with the males of the layer varieties, and I find it quite odd some of the haters choose to buy "meat birds" and not buy roosters of the layer breeds and use them for meat, I understand it's a higher cost for less meat but, if you object morally on how they are eliminated then why do not do what you can to stop what you find immoral? I don't think people should get drunk for many different reasons, but instead of protesting and being a "hater" I avoid going to bars and certain bars that pose as "restaurants ". I still go to the local pizza joint that sells beer, the Mexican restaurant that serves adult beverages if you want them with your meal, but not some local or chains as I stated say they are one thing but are another.....

That is so true! I like mypetchicken because they sell the male chicks to be raised up for meat. I plan to butcher cockerels for my family once I have my own property.
