I’ve has trouble lately finding show quality d’Uccles. I’ve considered ordering from Cackle Hatchery, I know they’d be hatchery quality, but it seems like that’s all I can find. Just looking for opinions on if I should hold out for a breeder or order from a hatchery.

I’d prefer to find chicks or grown birds since the last time I ordered eggs from someone I had a terrible experience. The eggs were crushed the first time, they got replaced and the replacements were crushed, showed up late and stunk terribly and after that the person just stopped answering me. I don’t know if I just have poor shipping services around here but I’m scared to purchase eggs now.

She is in WI, so the drive to her or the breeder she got her birds from might be feasible from IL.

Hi! :frow
Rae is right, I do have D'Uccles. I have show quality Mille Fleurs. I am willing to sell and ship chicks if you'd be interested in a late spring/early summer hatch as that is when I should have eggs to set.

I didn't even realize the OP is in IL! I can drive to them to meet them about halfway if they want to skip on shipping. It also makes it possible to transport a small order.
My breeder is local and I hatch his eggs for free.

I live about 40 minutes from Kentucky so I’m pretty far south in Illinois. I’m not sure how far of a drive it’d be to meet you halfway. There is a breeder around here but I think she stopped raising the d’Uccles. I’m going to try to get ahold of her but if anything changes I’ll definitely let you know. Thank you!

I have fertile eggs. 6 are in the incubator now. I'll probably hatch many more chicks than I'll need this year.
