Isolation for injured birds

Separate asap then proceed with a thorough evaluate and wound cleaning etc. The shock alone can cause birds to shut down then be targeted as weak link/ herd risk by the others.
We had a terrible fox attack this weekend (door malfunction- daylight savings locked them out). and while my alpha roo defended most, he is injured.
I brought him inside, cried the appropriate amount while praising him and thanking (bc dammit what a good boy) and did wound cleaning, manuka honey and dilute aspirin water in a syringe. He made it through the night, drank with intention today and took some protein milk enthusiastically. His neck is quite weak - I’m sure wry neck or strained muscle from the fight. Now he’s resting in a laundry basket under a red light belt. Fingers crossed for your baby.

We are in winter weather warning and 12deg F here. I’m sure they’d be happy outside quarantined in warm weather but it’s just not feasible in zone 5b right now.
