Issue with the sand floor outside

Hey guys. So our coop is indoor shed and outdoor run with a concrete bottom. We put a roof on the outdoor, but it doesn't have a lap. Yesterday and today it poured down and the whole outside has got soaked. We have sand on the floor with a little bit of wood chips atm. But seriously, it's drenched and awful. Can't let my babies out on that!! What is best for the babies outside in those kind of conditions as sand is a no no. Hubby said about just having the concrete, but they like to scratch around and hunt for things. So think they need something. Just don't know what to use on it for when it gets wet! You need to correct the cause of it getting wet. The run should always be on high ground all the way around with water runoff diverted away from it and the coop.

In the meantime, the wood chips may mold, so you'll want to muck that out of there.

Mold is a very real hazard with poultry.

Its just blowing in. Could look at the run off. But don't think it's that more than the rain is just blowing in.
