It’s not breeding season yet!?!?

So while the geese and ducks were free ranging in the pond I noticed my male Toulouse goose courting my female buff goose. Then the male climbed on top of her ( first try was facing the wrong way ) then they turned it around. But any ideas because I heard they only breed during a certain season. Any help is appreciated.

How old are your geese? He may have just been practicing. when a gander actually mates with his female he sounds off after really loud did he do that?

He is one year old and no he didn’t sound off loud so I guess they were just practicing. Thank you
