<<<Thinking Bear. I had one strip chicken wire stapled with 11/2 inch staples, clean off 2 trees to eat my rabbit and guiny pig. It did it durring a bad storm,so it didn't even wake the dogs. 2 days later the rabbit came hopping out of the brush. If you dont have a dog, set some small legget traps. That will atleast teach it a lesson.
amazingly, we hadn't even gotten traps set up yet. the pen acted as a trap by itself. they went in to get the food and then we found them before they got back out. they got back out all right, on a shovel. both were thrown into the woods across the street and apparently they both landed in water. thank god my babies are okay. as soon as my dad came and got me, i was so upset. i wouldn't know what to do if i lost them too.
but yeah-fort knox was needed. we live right next to a pond in a small town next to acres of woods, so there's tons of animals. we went almost a year without any animal problems at all. 355 days, and then we suffered two attacks. since we put the boys back in their house, we've had quite a few things try to break it. thankfully we rebuilt it well enough that they can't get in. but my poor boys have been through so much. the heard slushie get killed, while chubby was in there with her, and then later that day they watched as chubby was attacked, killed, and carried away. and now at night they have things outside trying to get in, and two of the succeeding, but never making it back out alive.
we have a dog....a shih tzu......not much help at all. but i love her. there's a beagle behind us and she has a perfect few of the duck house. when bailey barks, you better check around cuz somethings out there.
