It finally happened. Finished building the coop and run, picked up my first ever flock Saturday!

Took about a month to prepare the area and assemble the coop and run. 7 hour round trip to pickup my six new ladies. I got two of each of three breeds- Barred Plymouth Rocks, Rhode Island Reds and Golden Sexlinks. They are almost fully feathered at 6 weeks old. They slept well in their Taj Mahal and ate a lot today. I have soo much to learn!

I'm rite with you. I constructed my own about a month ago from scraps of lumber from a clean up job I did, the chicken wire was given to me by my son from a project he never did, the primer paint I had already, but I did have to purchase the 2x3 and the corrigated rooftop. All in about $350 including the 5hens, feed, screws, bradnails. I've been up and clucking for 3day.
