The neighbors love such encounters. I once chased a Cooper's hawk carrying one of my Birmingham rollers around the house, across the road into my neighboors flower bed --- oops, forgot I was only wearing boxer shorts.
I grabbed the pigeon, waved sheepishly and went home.
I can also see it. A few years back, I had a red tail hawk come down from the sky and hit on of my LF hens so hard he knocked her out! I ran like crazy to rescue her and she was limp...knocked smooth out. I checked her for damages and didn't see any blood, just lost feathers.....she came to shortly and it took her weeks to come out of the coop again.....hawks are cunning predators ...watch out!
