It this normal?

I cut it off. there was 3 tiny cords coming from the abdomen hole. it has a little blood but isnt bleeding. its deffinately infected. is there anything i could buy or do or something to help get rid of infection? there are 2 ducks that im worried about. one of them is laying by itself away from the other babies. anything to do thatll improve its chances? or is it a done deal once that is infecet?
 
Dab a little antibiotic cream/ointment on their navel areas as a prevention and protection until it's sealed and healed. The scabs from the cord etc will fall off over the next day or two. The fluff shedding is normal, don't worry. I hatched a handful of ducklings in my forced air incubator and there is probably still bits of fluff in there, after I scrubbed it! They are born messy

some "fluffy stuff" is normal after a hatch, being your first larger hatch you're probably just noticing it more. it sounds like your doing everything you can, and as always sumi has given wonderful advice.

i am not an expert on ducks, but i have hatched a few. they can be tricky. from what ive read, it sounds to me like some of them were starting to incubate before they were in the incubator. something could have happened to them in the beginning and started the problems you are facing.

don't give up over a bad hatch, it happens to the best of us. when you have a good healthy hatch, it makes up for the bad ones.

out of curiosity, did you incubate them on their sides, or in a turner?
 
I had them shipped so i incubated them in an egg carton...but only because of what ive read. its actually the first time ive hatched eggs. the only reason i say my first big hatch is because i dont wana feel like im lying if i say i havent only because ive had 1egg or 2 eggs that the 1 died at day 22 and the others never incubated ..so really idk what hell im doing. so having this many eggs is nerve racking for me. pretty much everything ive done just goes by what ive read..but i wanted to be prepared so ive read alot and bought story guide book but its still not like having experience when something goes wrong. so thats why i get discouraged. but about the incubating sooner than i thought..i really think thats possible. i wondered before with it being summer and having them mailed..i live in texas..if i wouldnt get to hot on the trip here. this batch of eggs when i opened the box already had 5 eggs broke. which at the time i didnt know the issues with shipped eggs. that left 15. 1egg didnt incubate so i had 14 all growing and looking good. but hatching 2 died cause they were backwards and 1 i think accidentally got water in its nose. so that leaves me with 11 . luckily i have 9 in the brooder but with the abdomen thing and 2 still alive in the incubator. but i havent had any sleep in so worried. i wish there was something i could do or buy to fix it

The odds for a successful hatch with shipped eggs is pretty low, no matter how much hatching experience you have. The post office doesn't always treat those fragile packages with the care they need and many eggs arrived so messed up at their destinations that it's impossible to get anything from them. The hatch rate you got with these eggs is actually very good! I know you don't want to believe me, but I think you did great.
 
Thank you. i appreciate that. i have seen some of the odds and 11 out of 15 i guess is pretty good. but i still hope they stay alive. what is it after the first week or so and ill know if they will make it? i have my fingers crossed. i have a farmer im just going to give them to. so i wana keep them til i know they are o.k. i dont feel right giving them away if they arent healthy. plus i wana give them special attention. im prolly going to tell him anyway. i feel when it comes to animals its better to pass everything you know with the animal. they have some gunk in their feathers but ill post a pic of how they are doing
