* Did I read that right?? Whatever it was dug all the way under 2 other pens??? What would do that?

yes under the fence of one then under the fence of the other, i had 4 10 x 11 pens in succession, i took the first two and made them one. That large one is empty now, im redoing it and for the summer planting some shade loving vegies in there, in teh fall put chickens back in. It dug into that pen........then dug into the adjacent pen where the chicks were.

* Pretty determined pest. I'm really sorry, chickhamm. I think you'll find out what did this. Almost sounds like a puppy or something that wanted to 'play' with the chicks and didn't realize the damage it was doing. That doesn't make it any easier for you and yours, though, I know.
