Its 28*C in my coop 26*C outside my girls are panting

Wow, you should come to New Orleans if you want to feel hot! That's crazy that they have cooling stations...I've never even heard of that!
It was 98F (37C) in my coop today, and about 100F outside...in the sun that is. In the shade, it is so much cooler. I am actually getting ready to move my coop into the shade and that will help drop the temperature down tremendously. I might add, my little girls and boy are not in the coop yet so I'm not cooking chicken.

It's really not that bad Dar, they're just not used to it is all. Make sure they have plenty of water and shade, and they will be fine. If you are extra concerned, put a fan somewhere (safely) that they can sit in the breeze of.

(I know by the time you read this it will no longer be so relevant, as the heat is breaking somewhat, but I mean, for next time)

My girls R hot but I change the water every 2 hours abd I have a couple that like to wade in the fresh water but the others will dig holes.Best of Luck and keep the ideas coming.

My girls start to pant when it hits 75F, 85F during heat streaks and they hide in dirt under trees all day and stop laying eggs. Humidity makes it feel hotter. Fans, cold water to drink, and they will be fine. Good luck in the heat.

I have bottles in the freezer for the next wave, I hope this one breaks soon enough we still have not got the rain they are predicting. We are under a severe storm watch right now
