OMG! So happy here. In late March I bought two straight run Khaki Campbells at the Agway store, hoping for at least one female. I been watching for changes in beak & leg coloring, listening for changes in their voices but nothing really distinct enough until today. It's a cold rainy afternoon here in SWestern Connecticut. I've been relaxing after work and started hearing a very loud, distinct "Quack, Quack, Quack" from outside. (Let me back up to say that shortly after getting the ducklings, my 26 yr old son got a Duck Commander duck call so that he could "talk to them, and train them". LOL!! ) i was sure it was Kyle out there but he's not home from work! So, yay!! It's a girl! The other is larger, but quieter and more shy. Anyone have a guess? A male?

Eh it depends. Amiga is right; a raspy sound is a male. However, if the duckling in question still "cheeps" it could be a girl. Males are quiet, all except mine. He talks ALL THE TIME. He has a raspy male sound, but still chatters away...lol.
