Well...last night I set the traps....sardines and whitefish. I just KNEW I would get him in the trap.
4am....the hens are screaming...MOM COME NOW!!
So I jump out of bed...grab the gun and flashlight. I was too late...thats SUCKER got my Faverole hen, and my Polish Rooster.

Poor Ben and Favor....They didnt deserve to go like that. But, now he is in my BO coop...I can smell it....I saw it...running behind the nest box.....so I get my flashlight on it...BAM!! MISSED! DANG! 4 more shots, missed....NOW I am on a mission...I sit out there...vigilanty style....waiting on this smelly invader.....finally...it poops it head out.....BAM! GOT IT!! It falls between a board and the wall.....still breathing, but dying.....BAM>>>>>BAM>>>>>ITS DEAD!! WOOHOO!! I got it!! I wont rest...im sure there are more...but I got ONE of the little murderers!!

Were you shooting in the coop ?? I'd be afraid of hitting one of my hens, I mean when you shoot don't they freak out....

They might not lay ever again...lol.

Yes, I was in the coop, shooting. All the hens and roos were behind me, ( the big protector) LOL I bet I made 4 more trips out there, after all that. When I was shooting....the chickens didnt really freak out, and the RIR, in the adjoining coop, never made a peep. They stayed on thier roost...not a peep.
About 30 minutes after I shot it...I heard the hens cackling again..so back out I went, gun in hand.
There, in the nest box....was a hen...laying an egg.! Not much phases them I guess. I normally get between 10 and 12 eggs from that coop....I will see how many I get today. I TOO hope it was a loner. Jeesh, how stressfull!

I'd say mink...aren't weasels usually smaller? The weasels we have around here are smaller anyway.
