(Reptar is a childhood friend to her)Sino went in with her to make sure her room was secure. (She dates Reptar, right?)
(ah, ok) Sino nodded, satisfied with the empty room.(Reptar is a childhood friend to her)
Lyra was glad she wasn't alone for this as they checked her room for any other humans. She was glad to not see anymore of them
Lyra sighed then looked to him again "Should we alert the guards to be on watch more, they could be just one small group and not the whole of them"(ah, ok) Sino nodded, satisfied with the empty room.
Rayko soon slowed as he saw a light up ahead. He was loathe to do it, but he opened the lantern latch and blew out the candle. He then set it down on the ground. The hurried quietly to the yellow glow in the darkness. But when he got there, he found a large cavern with a table with rolled parchment upon it. There were no humans present. It was clear this was a form of command post. As Rayko stepped over to thr table and unrolled the parchment, he discovered the blueprints to the castle. Stolen from their very own archives. "They have grown bold or we have a traitor in our midst. This is how they knew which windows were the king and queen's. Just as they knew where to dig the tunnel so we wouldn't find it. We must tell Queen Lillian." Rayko said with mounting anger.
Acan gasped, one hand covering his mouth in surprise. He believed what Rayko stated, as he couldn't read or write or make out maps and blueprints, as these skills weren't needed for a peasant. He was sure that if the humans knew the layout of the castle really big trouble was only a matter of time.
" How many do you suppose there might be, Sir Rayko?" Acan asked quietly.
"I don't know, but we have an advantage now, they don't know we know of this place. If we find out where the other end of this tunnel goes, we can bottleneck them in here. Hopefully will the head of the snake in attendance. But for now, we must leave before we are discovered. He reluctantly left the blueprints. For taking them would give away that they had been found out. Rayko walked over to a burning torch and took his dagger to collect a blob of burning oil, so they could light the lantern again.
Acan followed Rayko, trying to think of something that could possibly help.
" Do you know any burrowing owls? Forgive my boldness but, we might be able to post one here in a dark corner, and they are good diggers and can see down here," whispered Acan. He was definitely ready to leave the tunnel.
"We can search discreetly for one. Especially one willing to do the task, it is dangerous. Plus we must be certain of their loyalty. The less who know about thid tunnel, the better. That is a wonderful idea Acan. Perhaps you've missed your calling. You have a strategists mind." Rayko complemented.
