Acan watched Vivian fly away. He envied the other birds. Flight was something he would never attain. He was always to remain a man of the earth, but that was alright. He used his connection to the earth to his own advantage, coaxing the fruits of the land.

Vivian had planted the seeds bad went inside as the sun started to set.

Aiveron looked to Reptar and dipped his head before leaving, "Bother. "

Reptar returned the gesture. He then smiled pleasantly at Lyra and offered his arm. "Off to the kitchen. Whatever they are cooking smells fabulous." He said quietly.
Lyra smiled and nodded "I do like what they come up with here. Better than the human foods out there." She said softly though she did glance towards his brother before they turned to go.

Emily stirred the stockpot, then called the kitchen maid. " Ma'am! The stock is ready to be poured off!" Called Emily. She got out of the way, heading to the wood pile to bring in some big logs for the evening. She didn't want to have to haul in wood after dark, and it got her out of the scullery while they were in there. By the time she got back inside after several loads of wood, they were done pouring off the soup stock, so Emily took the cooked bones and tossed them out. The kitchen maid and the cook were busy making steak and kidney pies, with fresh tarts for desert. There were also roasted joints of lamb with herbs, ale from the cellar, and roasted root vegetables. There was a thick crusty sourdough bread, with a big lump of golden butter to spread, or soft spreadable fromage. Since they were in season, there were also a number of roasted honeyed apples for desert too.

Reptar noticed Lyra's glance and explained why Aiveron was sore with him. "One day, Aiveron will meet the right one and she'll not be like that twit Beatrice. You remember her? That fool who tried to love us both? That one broke his heat terribly." He reminisced as they walked.

Aiveron closed his eyes as he heard the echoed reminder of his first love, Beatrice. He sighed softly, as he took out the folded parchment from his breast pocket and looked at it quietly. Perhaps that was the true reason he loved from afar now. Not so much in fear of his brother's actions, but from the intimacy of being rejected so callously.

Rayko finished his meal and returned to the castle. He flew through the window of his room and shifted. He decided to just sleep in his clothing, since it was late in the day. He laid down upon his bed and closed his eyes. Surprisingly he found sleep quickly. However, it was far from restful.
