We are new to raising chickens and just bought our first chicks. 9 hens, Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons and Black Sex Links. We built a nice secure brooder for now and are working on their permanent coop.
Chicks appear healthy and happy. Our main concern is predators, which are abundant! I have been told to never underestimate their ability, which im sure is true. Looking forward to future ventures.

and Welcome to BYC! Congratulations on the new chicks, have fun with them! Sounds like you will have a nice egg laying flock! You might want to check out the Predators forum for some ideas on how to deal with the ones you have in your area
