It's going to be super cold.

Yeah, we've had a really unusual amount of rain this year (after multiple years of drought), and even had two straight days of sprinkles/drizzle this week.  Just had a cold front come through yesterday with wind, ripped lots of leaves off and tossed some things around in the yard.  Weather is just weird lately, but our fall weather is sometimes unsettled...  Yes, I think it may be a cold winter here too.  Kinda gonna need it, cuz otherwise the bugs will be unmerciful next year, after all the rain this year :fl

My son and his dad love their zip-off pants where the legs zip off and turn the pants into shorts...  pretty handy for our kinda climate :gig

My guineas took care of my bug problem!

You must not get mosquitoes up there Margret, i keep Muscovy ducks just to work the water sitting cause they love mosquito's larvae, i haven't had a problem with mosquito's in years, yes there would be some sometimes in the woods but right now i have been 4-Wheeling my rounds cause even with spray on they buzz my face so bad in the woods i can not see, they even get bad on my porches at night and i can't remember what year that happen last and to think my new place is tucked up in the woods

Just got a catalog from a company called Cuddledown. On the cover is a whole peacock bed ensemble! They have sheets, comforters, duvet covers....you name it. It's gorgeous! !

We have Mosquitos here, but not that bad! What we do have is ticks! But... My guineas have taken care of them! Ticks, grasshoppers, Black Widows, etc. Are almost gone or at least where they don't bother anymore!

My birds have taken care of all the bugs they can reach, no ticks in the pastures but if you get off in the high grasses they are there cause my guineas and other birds do not forage in such areas, to easy to get ambushed by a wild thang

People have seen my gunieas at the other end of our property. They seem to go where the bugs are! They have cleaned them out of the yard. Since I let the half grown out to free range the older ones are acting like nursemaids to them, showing them where they can go and can't go! I notice the older ones have chosen potential mates!

Our older guineas harass the younger ones. DW calls the 18 young ones the White Cloud because they move in a pack, but they all follow the bronze turkey they grew up with like it is their mama. I call them Owl Bait in hopes that if there is a night time attack they will draw the owl to them and save my peas from being attacked.

I have a love/hate relationship with the guineas although we did watch them take on a hawk last week, that was cool. They took the poor hawks rodent away from it before I could shoot it.
